CFDA Awards Red Carpet Trend: Red Dresses

Every red carpet has its own trend. Something in the zeitgeist dictates that a certain style or silhouette or colour is going to dominate. And the fun of tracking every red carpet here on the blog is that we get to anticipate these trends. We picked out red as the colour for the season way back in February, when we were at London Fashion Week. It just seemed like a colour pop of unnatural frequency. And now look here. At the CFDA Awards last night, Prabal Gurung dressed Angel Alessandra Ambrosio in a gorgeous swirl of a gown, accessorised dramatically with the steel neck cuff. Jason Wu dressed Karlie Kloss in an elegant halter and Doetzen Kroes' asymmetrical J. Mendel frock was a show stopper. You just can't go wrong with a beautiful red dress (if you are a supermodel, obvs.)
